Waje Opens Up About Overcoming Body Insecurity

Nigerian singer Aituaje Vivian Ebele Iruobe, popularly known as Waje, has revealed her past struggles with insecurity over her physique and how she eventually embraced her body.

In a recent episode of the Her Next Chapter podcast, hosted by Tope Olowoniyan, the 44-year-old singer shared that in her 20s, she used to wear multiple bras at once due to discomfort with her chest size.

“Even before I had my child, I have always been heavy at the top. I used to hide it. In my 20s, I used to wear like three bras. I used to be very uncomfortable about how heavy I was at the top,” Waje admitted.

Over time, Waje said she became more confident and learned to stop feeling insecure about her body. Motherhood, she explained, also changed the way she viewed herself.

She credited friends like rapper M.I and professional dancer Kaffy for helping boost her confidence and build resilience against negative comments.
