NEV Electric Motors has unveiled the NEV T3, a next-generation electric mobility van designed specifically for African cities, marking another step in Nigeria’s transition toward sustainable transportation.
The launch underscores the company’s commitment to developing locally engineered electric vehicles capable of transforming urban mobility across Nigeria and the wider African market building on the Success of the NEV T6
Speaking at the unveiling, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mosope Olaosebikan, stated that the NEV T3 builds on the success of the company’s earlier model, the NEV T6.
According to him, the NEV T6 has already transported thousands of passengers across urban routes in Nigeria, helping operators significantly reduce fuel costs while eliminating tailpipe emissions.
“The success of the NEV T6 proved that electric mobility can work in Africa. With the NEV T3, we are introducing a new generation vehicle engineered specifically for the realities of African cities — efficient, reliable and sustainable,” Olaosebikan said.
The NEV T3 has been designed to meet the demands of African road and operating conditions. The vehicle features an efficient electric drivetrain aimed at lowering maintenance requirements, eliminating fuel expenses, and producing zero tailpipe emissions.
The van is positioned as a versatile mobility solution suitable for passenger transport, corporate mobility services, and urban logistics operations.

In addition to manufacturing electric vehicles, NEV Electric Motors is actively deploying electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Nigeria to support growing adoption.
The company has begun establishing charging stations in key urban locations and major transport corridors as part of a broader strategy to develop a reliable nationwide charging network capable of supporting electric vehicles at scale.
Industry observers note that the combination of locally manufactured electric vehicles and expanded charging infrastructure will be critical in accelerating Nigeria’s shift away from petrol-powered transportation.
Electric vehicles offer significantly lower operating costs compared with conventional vehicles while contributing to reduced air pollution and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
With the introduction of the NEV T3, NEV Electric Motors strengthens its position in Nigeria’s emerging electric mobility sector and advances the broader goal of sustainable urban transportation across Africa.
